The article is inspired by J. Mehl's publication and discusses some problems connected to the ways of social competence increase in the situation of social upheaval: it is necessary to consider contexts of self-identification and self-regulation of a person; it is impossible to make the psychotherapist to solve patient's problem of self-determination in new social conditions.
